What is Mesothelioma?Mesothelioma Symptoms
Symptoms of Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma, a cancer caused by Asbestos exposure, affects one of the many organ protective layers called Mesothelium Membranes. This cancer generally affects the mesothelium membranes around the lungs symptom, called the Pleural Mesothelium, or the mesothelium membrane around the abdomen, known as the Peritoneal Mesothelium. In some very rare cases it affects the membrane around the heart called the Pericardium Mesothelium. The cancers affecting these membranes are respectively called Pleural Mesothelioma, Peritoneal Mesothelioma, and Pericardium Mesothelioma.
The symptoms are slightly different for each type of cancer and are generally the common ailments like coughs, chest pains, and bowel congestions. Most times these ailments are overlooked and the disease therefore gets diagnosed only at later stages. So if you have ever been exposed to Asbestos, like in ship yards or at military installations and do have these common ailments regularly then it's advisable that you must consult your physician for thorough check up.
